Ummm, new Apple ([link]), its retina is ([link]), has retina display better at 3 million more pixels than an HDTV~ It's bested the best TV's! It's a notebook or laptop i guess. There are discounts that can be applied, for teachers, etc! www.billmelater.com good apple financing : usually 6 mo. promo, pay as you like in 6 months.~ I'm sorry, i probably don't help! If you like mac=try to get, it is WORTH it :) I have Wacom from years ago so far..

refurbished? for sale? Hope you find a good monitor worthy of your fabulous artwork to inspire and make it easier to work. Wireless keyboard-Apple is visually appealing and very VERY comfy!~ :meditate:

It should be good checkout tftcentral they have very thorough reviews of monitors and also have calibrated color profiles if you can't get it calibrated locally.

I am quite terrible artist but last year I bought HP ZR22w (it is an expensive monitor) because the computer salesman said it is perfect for making digital art because it had the best colour accuracy at those days. And I had enough money to buy it. Some people that I know and who really can make good digital art are quite jealous because I have a ten times better monitor than they have even I can't draw. 8-)

As mentioned, the Samsung monitors have great clarity, contrast and color profiles. Especially in the 21-26" range.

Most IPS options should be pretty good. I'm getting new monitors soon and I'm getting LG IPS231P.

I've found that LG monitors tend to have very good picture and bright colors. You'll have to calibrate your monitor if you are working on stuff for print because like the Apple monitors they tend to run quite a bit brighter than other monitors. I've had mine for 3 years now and so far I haven't had any complaints. The only drawbacks I can find on the model you're looking at are that it has a tilt only stand (like most monitors), some motion blur, and stingy feature set (so it doesn't come with a lot of freeware)

I also have a 24" samsung monitor and it works great. Things to check are the colour contrast refresh rate as well.

I have this great Samsung SyncMaster 2494 (24") that I bought for around $230, and it's FANTASTIC. Good luck in choosing a new monitor! :)
